Workplace - Fitness at Work

Especially in a coworking workplace or when you work alone, it can be hard to integrate a well-balanced fitness regime into your daily work-life. Looking after yourself both mentally and physically plays an essential part in your creativity and productivity.

Work can be stressful, especially if you’re not balancing your work life correctly. Physical exercise is a significant factor in relieving stress, therefore affecting your work performance positively.  Many people who have suffered severely from anxiety and depression will tell you that the best medicine was building up a sweat through exercise.

Studies have shown that exercise correlates directly to how well you work. Integrating a good fitness habit into your work life might not be as hard as you first think.

Stress Relief

The less stressed you are, the more focused you can be. It is easy to say that you have no time for fitness as you are tired from the workload during your day. However, being physically fit will make you sleep better, thus being less tired during your work days. If you’re thinking in the long-term, strengthening your body will make your whole life function better.

Stop Wasting Precious Time!

You can always start small, then build up and sustain a good fitness plan regularly. For example, instead of wasting your free time looking at social media, go for a run at lunchtime or before you go back home. Not only does this make you more efficient- but it also saves you from the rush hour crush!

 

Caffeine Can Help but

Of course, other ways can get you through the day, such as coffee or energy drinks, but according to studies, those are much less effective and short term than exercising. Why not take the stairs anytime you can at your office building instead of the lift?

Exercise has also been proven to increase your brain-capacity, enabling you to work more effectively and managing your work schedules more precisely. Who wouldn’t want to be as focused and sharp as possible at work?
